Vegan Pregnancy Update {Week 19}

How Far Along: 19 weeks 5 days

Size: 8½oz and about 6 inches long. Food comparison – Mango?! What? I think the Heirloom tomato version seems more likely.

Weight gain: 7lbs (3kg for my SA friends and family. Scratch that – for the rest of the world!)

Gender: Keeping it a surprise (From ourselves, not just you guys!)

Baby bump: Loving my baby bump. It’s clearly a preggo bump and not a food-baby bump. I pat it and rub it all day long. Is that normal?

Movement: Still nothing that I can’t confuse with gas unfortunately. TMI, sorry!

Sleep: Let’s just say we’re not on good terms at the moment. Also, Daniel’s half of the bed is now more like ¼ because the two pillows and I take up ¾ now. #sorrynotsorry

Exercise: I took a walk out on the greenway this week and I loved it. I think I need to plan out my exercise days so I can stay on track! Motivation for yoga has been tough this week. It seems like it’s getting harder and harder to do regular flows and I get impatient with myself if I do what I call a “prenatal” flow. That’s what’s it’s all about though, right!?

Clothing: I am loving tight tops to show off my bump but the pants are getting harder and harder to zip up. I bought a Beband at Target this week and it’s working out very nicely. I bought the S/M then exchanged it for the M/L as it wasn’t as tight. I also bought three Merona tanks (see links below) and I just sized up instead of getting a maternity version.

Shop my Style:

A: Merona tank from Target. Color: Moss — 3 for $20  (or $8 each)

B: Cardigan from Target $17.48

C: Girlfriend crop jeans from Gap $55.99 – sizes very limited sorry! I got mine at the Charlotte Premium Outlets: $34.99- plenty of sizes.

How I’m feeling: If I don’t exercise in the morning, I can feel really lazy and down but I usually cheer up after lunch and nannying.

Cravings/Aversions:

  1. Cravings- The coffee craving is officially gone! Vegan fail though – I had half an Oreo McFlurry

  2. Aversions- Sundried tomatoes, Peanut sauce, stirfry, curry, and meat smells

What I miss:

  1. Lying/sleeping on my tummy (still my number one!)

  2. Power yoga

Nursery: Nothing, niente, rien, niks, nada

Baby Purchases: None this week – go girl! We are actually in denial that a car seat/stroller will need to be bought in the next month or so. How do you even go about choosing one of those?

Hubby: Daniel talks and sings to baby every night and it’s my favorite part of the day. I mean, I still hope baby gets my musical abilities, but it is too sweet. He is going to be a great dad.

Best part of the week: I love going to the pool and feeling the weightlessness of my tummy in the water. What a break on my lower back. I just wish the pool wasn’t 3feet deep so I could actually do some laps. I also felt confident with my lightly self-tanned body thanks to Ensley’s post this week!

Can’t wait for: Our mini baby moon to Hilton Head, SC that we booked for June.
